Founded in 1846, RBINS is a Belgian federal institute. A research institute
as well as a museum, it houses an exceptionally rich zoological collection,
alongside prehistoric items, a mineral collection and many databases.
The Institute has a total of 36 million biological and geological specimens.
As for virtual content, RBINS is supplying AQUARING with databases on
marine research and fauna, several thousand pieces of data, hundreds of
original images, a number of maps, videos, reports and interactive software
on sustainable marine development and water management.
